Scotland Run Golf Club is a Public 18 hole golf course located in WIlliamstown, New Jersey, just 20 minutes from downtown Philadelphia and 45 minutes from Atlantic City.
Scotland Run Golf Club first opened for play in 1999. The course was designed by Stephen King.
Scotland Run Golf Club sits on the site of a former stone and gravel quarry. Eleven of the eighteen holes run along, around, and through the old sand quarry. Scotland Run offers a distinctive blend of wooded, quarry, and links-style holes. The most unique characteristics include expansive waste areas and an imposing display of cliffs. Sloping fairways, deep bunkers, vast waste areas, intimidating cliffs, and large undulating greens make this a memorable golf challenge. Six of the first 9 holes resemble a traditional wooded course with tree-lined fairway. The back nine has a Scotish links feel. Scotland Run was named the one of the Top 50 Public Courses in the country by the readers of Golf World in their annual Readers' Choice Awards in 2009 and 2010. The course also has the honor of being awarded the #1 course in the Philadelphia Region by Business Week Magazine.
Par for the course is 71. From the back tees the course plays to 6,810 yards. From the forward tees the course measures 5,010 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 10, a par-5 that plays to 545 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 15, a par-3 that plays to 164 yards from the back tees.
Watch out for # 12, a 465 yard par-4 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole is # 4, a 165 yard par-3.

I belong here and have played it since the year it opened. I live up the Northeast Ext in Pa and travel 50 minutes to get to course (and hour-and-a-half back with afternoon Surekill traffic)...confirmation that this is worth your while even at the walk up rate.
