I was Very pleasantly surprised by Blue Hill Golf Course, a municipal course. I was able to walk on as a twosome at 8:30 am on a Saturday when all other local courses were booked. Paid $37 to walk which is their winter rate but in season rate not too bad either (around $55 for out of county).
We played 2 of the 3, 9 hole tracks and they were laid out nicely, with a good variety of interesting holes. Many of the fairways are tree lined so accuracy off the tee is rewarded. Many of the par 4s are dog legs which provides some nice risk/reward options off the tee. You get to use every club in your bag on this course which is a feature I enjoy. Greens were in excellent condition (they did roll a bit slow but they rolled very true). Greens probably will be more challenging in season when they can be cut/rolled before a.m. tee times go out.
Staff was overwhelmingly friendly, polite & knowledgeable. A refreshing change from the other area munis. You can tell the staff takes pride in the course which is important to me.
My only critisism would be the proliferation of goose droppings which seems to fly in the face of everything I observed about the place. Perhaps they are more aggressive with these geese in season as that could be a major problem. Besides the geese droppings, however, I was very pleased with this course and will be back to play it often.

Course is playable and can test skills on all phases with multi-layered greens and hilly fairways. Best Public Golf Course in the area. Well maintained, easily accessable and reasonably priced - Top value for the money.

Golf course is in great condition, great layout but to expensive for a non resident. There are equal or better courses in the area for less money.
