Dunwoodie Golf Course first opened for play in 1903.
Dunwoodie lies at the top of "Dunwoodie Heights" in the center of the city of Yonkers. It is characterized by dramatic topography and steep slopes. Its layout is a mix of narrow fairways to rolling wide landscapes. The design of the course takes advantage of the natural topography, resulting in a challenging game. The front nine is hilly, and the narrow fairways are tree lined. The back nine is flat and more open. No water comes into play, but there are several sand bunkers incorporated into the course's design.
Dunwoodie Golf Courses measures 5,778 yards from the longest tees for a par of 70 . The course rating is 67.4 with a slope rating of 118.
Dunoodie also has practice greens, a driving range that is lighted for night play, and a multi-purpose catering facility in the clubhouse.

Dunwoodie has a nice layout for a county course but its conditions are often rocky with poor greens and rough. Might be the worst conditioned of the county courses but I like the 5 Par 3's and the view of NYC from the 18th tee is great. Don't let the grumpt staters bother you, you won't see a ranger for the rest of theday.
