Etowah Valley Country Club & Golf Lodge is a Resort, 27 hole golf course facility located in Etowah, North Carolina. Etowah Valley Country Club has three (3) nine hole golf course, they are: The North Course, The South Course, and The West Course. These courses can be paired into three different 18-hole combinations.
Etowah Valley Golf & Resort was constructed on the former plant site of the Moland-Drysdale Corporation. Moland-Drysdale manufactured the area’s famous Etowah Brick. The course was a reclamation of the mutilated mining lands at Etowah.
The Etowah Valley Country Club golf course first opened for play in 1967 with an 18 hole course designed by Ed Ault. The 3rd nine was added in 1988, it too was designed by Ed Ault.
Water hazards that come into play at least twelve times between these courses. The West Course is long and has large greens. The South Course is ideal for the intermediate golfer. The North Course is shorter and has the smallest greens.
The 9-hole West Course at the Etowah Valley Golf Club measures a maximum 9-hole distance of 3,601 yards and plays to a par-36.
The 9-hole West Course is a parkland-style course with wide, mature tree-lined fairways. The west course features more terrain changes than the other two courses with a couple of elevated tees and greens, and at least one blind tee shot. All the greens are well-bunkered and several of the holes feature water hazards.
The 9-hole South Course at the Etowah Valley Golf Club measures a maximum 9-hole distance of 3,507 yards and plays to a par-36.
There are some goodr elevation changes on this course. Most of the tee boxes are well above the fairway which is in your favor, espically if you hit a good drive. The greens are extremely fast, it would be a good idea to try to read the green as much as possible on your approach and try to get below the pin for your putts. Did I mention the greens were very fast.
The 9-hole North Course at the Etowah Valley Golf Club measures a maximum 9-hole distance of 3,404 yards and plays to a par-37.
The North nine is considered by many to be a must play nine, with the West being the most difficult, and the East coming in 3rd. It can be long, up to 7100 yards and a par 73 if you are using the par-37 as one of the 9-hole pairings. But there are plenty of tee selections sothat you can dial in your challenge comfort zone.

Great course. Very hot this time of year, though.

I was at Etowah Vallley with a group. We played rounds on Monday-Tuesday and Wednesday. The course was in excellent condition. The course was even in good playing condition following a heavy rain on Sunday night. The staff was exceptionally nice and really made us feel welcomed there.
