The Cardinal by Pete Dye, previously known as The Dye Course at Sedgefield Country Club and originally named The Cardinal Golf Club and Private, is now a semi-private golf course. This 18-hole golf course is located in Greensboro, North Carolina.
The course opened in 1974. The course is named after its architect, Pete Dye.
In 2006, McConnell Golf purchased the course and invested nearly $5 million in renovations to the clubhouse and golf course, most notably hiring Dye to return and fully restore his original design.
A number of holes feature Dye’s signature railroad ties including number 12, as he called it after the restoration, "the hardest par three I ever designed.”
Par for the course is 70. From the back tees, the course plays to 7,002 yards. From the forward tees, the course measures 4,904 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 4, a par-5 that plays to 603 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 2, a par-3 that plays to 168 yards from the back tees.
Watch out for # 5, a 462-yard par-4 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole at The Cardinal by Pete Dye is # 11, a 375 yard par-4.
