Bayonet At Puppy Creek, The, is a Public, 18 hole golf course located in Raeford, North Carolina.
The course first opened for play in 1995. The course was designed by Willard C. Byrd.
Bayonet offers five sets of tees ranging from 7,036 yards to 4,453. Par is 72. There are about 60 bunkers and water comes into play on only four holes. Bayonet has tree-lined fairways and rolling terrain. The undulating greens are fairly large and fast.
The par 3's are particularly challenging and interesting. #3 has a three-tiered green, #9 challenges with an uphill tee shot to a small green guarded in front by a bunker, #14 is a downhill tee shot with a front bunker protecting the green, and #16 provides the problem of dealing with its two-tiered green.
Course designer Willard Byrd has said of the course, "The Bayonet at Puppy Creek will endure the test of time because the 18 holes were designed under a basic, traditional concept with all the holes completely different, making it a course you never tire of playing. Also, the golfer will not forget the natural beauty of Puppy Creek."
