Hawthorne Hills Golf Course opened for play in 1963. The course was designed by Harold Paddock and John Dugan.
The Regulation Course is hilly and has medium width, tree-lined fairways. There are water hazards that come into play on two holes. The greens are large, undulating and medium to fast in speed, depending on the weather conditions. Greens and fairways are bent grass.

New ownership has managed to turn a once nice course into a waste of land. Clubhouse is never open, staff is clueless and way too many "members" playing now since they decided to basically give away memberships. Don't waste your time or money, Lima is a golf desert and is only getting worse.

Course Closed for Good October 18th, 2015. Hopefully it will be sold and reopen but doesn't sound like that will happen.
