Traveling through this area and my GPS picked up the Wapakoneta Country Club and it was open to the Public. I called and they were wide open so exciting I added it to my stop, now for "The Rest of The Story". It is located in the "Country" and it is a "Club" BUT its no Country Club like most of us golfer can relate to. It is a nice challenging Nine (9) hole layout with White tees (3,055yds / Par 36) for the Front and Blue tees (3,092yd / Par 36) and some 20 - 80yd differences between Blue/White tee boxes. I paid my Senior rate of $20 for 18 holes w/cart and played one (1) loop w/ two balls shooting 41/39 w/31 putts on this 6,147yd / 69.1 / Par 72 layout. It was very well kept course with lush greens holding and putting very true despite fuzzy fall conditions. The wind will be your biggest challenge on the rolling layout in the middle of plowed fields as it was whipping up a 2-3 club 15mph wind. The yardage is on the sprinkler heads BUT the heads are located along the Edge of the fairways, not the middle. Now I know why the thick green grass carried into the rough so far. (Good Idea ??) It is further off I-75 that I thought, so if you're pressed for time I'd wait till you get to Lima, OH as there are two (2) courses just off the highway.
