After having a 9hole warm-up round earlier, I decided to stop in a do another quick 9holes on the Back 9 at this newer Links layout. Being built in 1970, you have five (5) tees from 6,965yd / 72.7 / 118 / Par 36/36 down to 5,306yd / 69.8 / 111 / Par 36/38 for the Forward tees. This offers some good options when the windy conditions pick up on this very flat Links layout. Most of the holes are North/South but five (5), and the scattered Hard/Pine trees don't offer much of the normal Southwest protection, like today. Conditions were a little fuzzy from normal as I was told, but being late March, not bad overall. Good defined fairways (some grass bunkering) and having a lot of slight doglegs, broke up the tee box views nicely. They have five (5) ponds on the Back 9 that come into play as the West wind will play havoc on those North/South holes. Greens are good size with some slight variations to keep you from getting too relaxed. Good fairway yardage markings 200 - 100yds that will came in handy on the five (5) 400yd+ Par 4's and two (2) 500yd+Par 5's and two (2) 200yd+ Par 3's. (Long irons get a workout today) The #17 hole / 414yd / Hcp 1 / Par 4 protects itself very well by having ponds on both sides of the fairway with added trees. There are some houses on #14 / 17 but they are out of normal view and play. I ended up shooting 41 w/15putts and would like to return on a less windy day.
