Detailed description of Hawk Valley Golf Club
Hawk Valley Golf Club is a Public 18 hole golf course located in Denver, Pennsylvania.
Hawk Valley Golf Club opened for play in 1971. The course was designed by William and David Gordon.
The fairways on this course are well-bunkered and approximately half are tree lined. The greens are fast and undulating. Water hazards only come into play on three holes.
Par for the course is 72. From the back tees the course plays to 6743 yards. From the forward tees the course measures 5422 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 6, a par-5 that plays to 535 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 11, a par-3 that plays to 168 yards from the back tees.
Watch out for # 1, a 440 yard par-4 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole at Hawk Valley is # 11, the 168 yard par-3.
Called today (October 22, 2010). Rumors that the course has closed are false. The recording said that the course is open, but there is no club house. The recording further said, grab a cart or go out and play, some one will catch up to you and collect fees.

Hawk Valley is BACK!!! Course is looking great and the undulating greens are challenging. They are still slow at this time of the year but I imagine by summer they are going to be slippery! The new Superintendent is awesome. Very visible on the course willing to talk to players and looking for opinions and feedback. Cares about providing a great golf experience and monitors pace of play so things move along so everyone enjoys themselves. We played on Good Friday so it was pretty busy but the pace of play was reasonable. The Hawk has come a LOOONG way in the past 3 years

WE really enjoyed this course. We played it in March and not impressed with the condition but Yesterday it was in perfect condition and funto play.
