Legends Golf Club, The Heathland Course opened for play in 1990. The course was designed by Tom Doak.
Legends Golf and Resort offers five of the best golf courses available in the Myrtle Beach area and the state of South Carolina. They are The Heathland Course, The Moorland Course, The Parkland Course, The Legend's Oyster Bay Course, and The Heritage Course.
Centrally located just off Highway 501 in Myrtle Beach,Heathland, Moorland and Parkland courses are nestled within the Scottish-inspired Legends Golf & Resort.
Legends' Oyster Bay course is on the northern end of Myrtle Beach's Grand Strand in Sunset Beach, N.C., while Heritage is on the southern end in Pawleys Island, S.C.
Legends Golf Club, The Heathland Course is a return to the grand "Old Country" traditions of the game. It has been distinctly molded in the image of the British Isles links courses, with holes reminiscent of familiar links like St. Andrews, and lesser known gems like Lahinch and Cruden Bay. Most of the holes are without high vegetation, providing a visual presentation like no other course in the area. The challenge and difficulty of this course comes primarily from the unobstructed breeze that blows constantly over the course, and the strategically placed bunkers and lush, deep rough that closely border all fairways. Many of the greenside bunkers are deep and require creative shots to make an escape. The Heathland Course par-71 layout plays to 6,785 yards from the ltips. The course rating is 72.3 with a slope rating of 127.

Part of a great package deal while staying at the Legends resort. We played All three Legends courses on site, Oyster Bay, TPC and Leopards Chase. Ranked in order amongst the group would probably be... Moorland, Leopards Chase, Heathland Oyster Bay, TPC and Parkland. Of the bunch the only one we werent really enamored with was Parkland. It was a good course with similar conditioning to all the others (Good), but the layout was not near as interesting. I would recommend the Legends resort to anyone and depending on your type of course preference, you cant go wrong with any of the onsite choices.

Gotta love this kind of golf..very links like. Can be windy. Can usually run ball up to green. Wide open in most places. It's right out there in front of you. Some great elevated tees. Golf as it ought to be!

Fabulous Tom Doak design. This is a great course that is much underated. I loved the new greens. I would play this course every day if I could. Plus ease of parking and first rate staff pro shop make this experience 5 of 5.

What can one say about this (and the other Legends) tracks but great. you will not go wrong playing any or all of them. I played the Heathland course on Sunday to scout and again on the following Tuesday in a tournament. On the practice day I paid $44 and for that I got: golf w/cart, breakfast (full buffet style), lunch (off of the menu), and 2 drinks. The best bargain I've ever seen from a course! Guests staying at the on-site resort get an even better deal. Moorlands, Parkland, and Heathland are all very challenging tracks. you can blend the need for a driver as well as safety play off the tee. There is no rest once you land in the fairways as every hole has multiple challenges to test all aspects of your game. The greens are huge! Not uncommon to have 60+ foot putts if you are not guaging your approach shots accurately. I stayed at the on-site resort several years ago and the condos were excellent. It would be very easy to make the Legends your only stay & play destination - except that you would be cheating yourself of other excellent Myrtle Beach area courses.
