This course is one of 3 and all would be a must to play. The "Best Deal on the Grand Strand for Locals". For the play they get the condition of the courses is very good. They are all fun to play but are long from the senior tees. I would recommend this course to anyone who enjoys a very good experience for the day as with fee you get a breakfast buffet, lunch and 2 drinks!! What a deal!!!

This course and this entire Legends complex defines the true meaning of "assembly line golf." They were so crowded that we had to start on the 11th hole of Moorland. We played 11 through 18 then 1 through the 9 hole. Since we were scheduled to play Parkland in the PM round they had us tee off on 10 and play all 18 holes then go back over to Moorland to play the 10th hole we had missed in the morning round. We also had to wait on every shot on every hole. Just like the ailines they overbook the tee times OR keep it to such a tight schedule that the slightest hiccup disrupts the entire process. It wasn't fun. It was a bad experience at an otherwise beautiful but over priced complex.

Would travel: 0-10 Miles, Vacation Worthy
Bottom line: Better courses for less nearby

I played the course on a cold, raw, rainy day, it was more like Ireland than SC. It's a difficult course for a high handicapper. The starter told us not to land the ball on the green because they wouldn't hold the ball, he was right. These greens were rock hard and rejected anything that didn't have PGA type backspin on them. All in all the course was in great condition for the time of year and it's nice but tough layout. You might find the course unfair, I did, but they don't hide the fact that it's designed to be a tough challenge.

Hey, anytime you go to play a Legends course, expect a great day of golfing experience. Once you see the gigantic, inviting Clubhouse and practice facility, you know it is a serious place. Always treated professionally and personally.

Moorland course is very different for Myrtle Beach. A lot of dirt was moved to create holes that you really have to see to appreciate. Some elevated greens that seem like they are a mile in the sky. Course is a little tricky in spots the first time you play it. Read the course yardage book (free) carefully. Once you have seen the holes once, you will love the playing of this course.

Just wish that Legends would give us Locals and/or Myrtle Beach Golf Passport members a little bit of a better deal. We have our choice of several really nice area courses that average under $35 year round. Legends may be a step up nicer, maybe worth 7-10 dollars more than our normal. Above that and we will rarely if ever play there with in regularity because of the high price. But if they are filling the place and do not need us, good for them.
