Goose Creek Country Club is a Private 18 hole golf course located in Baytown, Texas.
Goose Creek, was Baytown's first country club, organized in 1923 for employees of the Humble Oil Company. The 18-hole layout we see today, dates to 1956.
The course is known for its strange combination of holes, highlighted by five par 3s and five par 5s. The design rolls through a rice field with Goose Creek dominating the last five holes of the water-challenging front nine.
Par for the course is 72. From the back tees, the course plays to 6,500 yards. From the forward tees, the course measures 5,478 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 10, a par-5 that plays to 536 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 11, a par-3 that plays to 174 yards from the back tees.
Watch out for # 2, a 427 yard par-4 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole is # 15, a 347 yard par-4.
The front nine has narrow fairways, and the back nine is wide open. Water hazards come into play on over half the holes.
The course closed in 2014.
The course will be redeveloped as a residential housing community.
