The clausterphobic layout (think of holes 1, 9, 10, and 18 as an undivided 4-lane highway) can create real pace of play problems, but overall the course routing is good, and pace of play evened out on a crowded Saturday morning, which I found surprising--the first 10 or 11 holes were pretty slow. The greens were bumpy, but I don't remember many mis-directed putts because of it. They also held shots a little better than I expected. Respectable length on most par 4s, counterbalanced by a laughingly short par 5 finishing hole.

Would travel: 10-20 Miles, Not Vacation Worthy
Bottom line: I would play again

This is a municipal course with a fairly high number of walkers. Even so, the pace is reasonable (I don't know about weekends)and a walker with a pull cart should be able to keep up - on a "cart paths only" day it may actually be faster to walk. The layout is nice for a bargain course and there are quite a few trees. Like many lower priced courses, there is no true 'rough', mostly dirt and scrubby weeds off the fairway Water will come into play on only a few holes and only one hole for mid handicappers or better. A few of the greens are protected but many of the putting surfaces are average at best and can be a little bit bumpy.. However, the lines seem relatively true. Conclusions: If you walk courses to get mild exercise and some enjoyment it is a bargain and you won't be berated by cart drivers. Same for beginners, high handicappers, and some mids. Others will probably find the course too uninteresting regardless of price.

I had not played this course in over 10 years. I hated it then, but I must admit I was pleasantly surprised. My husband has just taken up the sport and the course layout was perfect for someone who is learning the game.
