The Course at Waters Creek, Tradition Course, originally named Chase Oaks Golf Course -Blackjack, is a Public, 18 hole golf course located in Plano, Texas. The Course at Waters Creek golf facility offers 27 holes of Championship golf. They have the 18 hole Tradition course and the 9 hole Players course.
Designed by architects Robert von Hagge and Bruce Devlin in 1981, the courses feature Tiff Eagle Bermuda Greens, tiff fairways, creeks, lakes, hills, and lots of trees.
The course is also annually ranked in the Top 10 North Texas Courses by PGA members.
For those who played the old Chase Oaks Blackjack course, the routing has been reversed with the old back nine now the front side and vice versa. Still, some holes, near and dear to the hearts of many, have been preserved like the sixth, which has long been the signature hole because of its beauty and challenge.
The Tradition course is a beautiful 18 hole championship layout that can be very demanding, especially from the back tees. Tradition often rewards strategic shot-making instead of strength.

The course have some very unique holes that are a challenge and fun to play. The Staff are friendly and helpful. The restaurant is probably deserves a grade of "D" compared to other courses of similar type and price in the area. I agree with one of the other commentors that the sand traps not maintained very well. The driving range is wide open, has a large hitting deck and has sevral distance flags. The cons of the driving range is that it's to far from the club house and the ball machine is to far from the hitting area. BlackJack is the 18 hole course. Sawtooth is the 9 hole course. Sawtooth is set up with two tee box area so that it can be played as an 18 hole layout. The course is short but difficult because of the many creeks that cross the fairways with the greens quite close to the creeks. I like to play this course because it requires good accurate iron play.

Still a great layout and challenge for the price. Biggest drawback is the lack of sand in the sand traps. With that taken care of, this course could get even more of my money.

Great layout but suffering from very poor maintenance overall--once fabulous now shabby looking. Won't play there again with so many better courses around for the same money. A real shame that it has fallen so far.

this review is for the new Watters Creek. They did a nice job on the remodel. Very playable, still has some tough holes but much easier than the old Chase Oaks. Will be better when carts are allowed off the path.
