The Hideout is a Public, 18 hole golf course located in Monticello, Utah.
The Hideout Golf Course opened for play in 2002. The course was designed by Forrest Richardson.
At more than 7,000 feet above sea level, The Hideout Golf Club has the distinction of being Utah's highest golf course. The Monticello area is more than 7,000 feet above sea level, making this Utah's highest golf course. It is set on the edge of the Abajo Mountains, extending into three draws, and offers challenging elevation changes. Monticello is about 55 miles south of Moab, located between Canyonlands and Mesa Verde national parks
Utah's 'hidden gem', as it has been called, is located in the Four Corners Region of Southern Utah. At 7,000 feet above sea level, this Alpine course takes advantage of rustic vegetation, dramatic elevation changes, amazing vistas and the relaxing setting of quaint Monticello, Utah. This regulation 6700 yard, 18-hole, par-72 layout is a favorite summer golfing retreat.
From the first tee, right down to the eighteenth green you wind your way through 18 unique and different hole designs. The par five second is one of the best par fives in the state, absolutely beautiful. This holes layout could possibly be one of the most beautiful holes in all of Utah. A short dog-leg left par four with huge willows lining the left-side.
The course plays over wooded and rocky hillsides, through pleasant grassy meadows and over and along babbling winding streams. Some holes feature elevation drops greater than eighty feet on a single shot. The par-4 No.4 hole finishes across a dramatic hollow twenty-feet deep previously used to retain water for cattle. Hole Nos. 13 and 14 are back-to-back par-5s which team up with the short 15th to allow a chance to get a birdie or two (or three!) before encountering the climactic and challenging trio of sixteen, seventeen and eighteen. Hole No. 18 is a risk-and-reward par-4 playing nearly 460 yards to a green guarded by a pond and stone wall.
The Hideout Golf Club golf course plays to a par-72 and a maximum distance of 6,768 yards. The course rating is 70.5 and the slope rating is 127.
