Stumpy Lake Golf Course is a Public 18 hole golf course located in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
Stumpy Lake was carved out of woodlands and is set back on the water, without a house in sight. The course is tight at times, with tree-lined fairways and No. 18 is a true test of accuracy. The green is guarded by a "moat" in the front, and the fairways is tight. So you have to be accurate off the tee, as well as on your second shot.
Stumpy Lake Golf Course opened in 1958. The course was designed by Robert Trent Jones, Sr.
Par for the course is 72. From the back tees the course plays to 6846 yards. From the forward tees the course measures 5239 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 4, a par-5 that plays to 554 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 3, a par-3 that plays to 178 yards from the back tees.
Watch out for # 5, a 430 yard par-4 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole at Stumpy Lake Golf Course is # 11, a 358 yard par-4.

women's tee boxes are non existant. They just mow an area in the fairway and two markers and there you are. tee off here. No thought given to location of tee boxes either. drainage ditches run through the middle of the fairway on many holes. Irrigation system must be broke as tee boxes, fairways and greens are rock hard. Greens won't recieve balls well. club house is nice and the food is good there. Other than that, save your money.
