Horn Rapids Golf Club is a Semi-Private 18 hole golf course located in Richland, Washington.
Horn Rapids Golf Course opened for play in 1994. The course was designed by Keith Foster.
Set against majestic high desert mountain range, Horn Rapids Golf Club, plays true to Central Washington desert style golf. With multi part fairways that wind through sand and sage, Horn Rapids provides a brilliant contrast of color between desert and greens. Set against high desert mountains, the sloping, slick greens provide plenty of character and demand on your short game.
This par 72 layout is as long as it is challenging. The course plays 6,954 yards from the back tees and boasts a 73.6 rating with a slope of 130. There are also options for less experienced players as well as the forward tees represent just over 5,200 yards with a slope of 111.
If you have an RV, Horn Rapids RV Resort is just across the highway with 225 parking pads.
Par for the course is 72. From the back tees the course plays to 6,945 yards. From the forward tees the course measures 5,179 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 3, a par-5 that plays to 579 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 4, a par-3 that plays to 196 yards from the back tees.
Watch out for # 7, a 419 yard par-4 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole is # 10, a 319 yard par-4.

Horn Rapids has no one on it day after day and still refuses to give any special deals as the other better courses do in the area. The management would rather you did not play at all rather than give you a reasonable price to play. This makes them non-competitive for play by area golfers in the know.
To add insult to enjury, they suffer from poor maintenance and no marsheling of players. Golfers relieve themselves on the course in the open for everyone to see and drive in the desert area's. No oversight at all. This course is going straight down the tubes.

Course is in good condition for the most part, although the greens are a bit rough in spots and could be better. This is a true target golf type of course and if you can hit the spots you will do well. The par 5's are playable and the par 3's can be tough. The pro shop is OK, but not special, while the snack bar is fine in the morning but will have limited service from later afternoon on.

Great kind folks, but overworked. We had the State Tournament here and in 15 years of coaching, it is the worst course we played. Tee boxes were unmoved for at least two days, fungus results on greens made them have holes in them. I could go on. Management does not seem to care about employees or the course. So many better options nearby, why would you play there? This is just a gimmick for developers to sell homes on that course.
