Larry chipped to the green for birdie. His ball rolled to the hole and came to rest against the leaning flagstick that was not replaced correctly in the hole. The ball was "hung up" between the putting surface and the flagstick with no part of it below the surface of the hole.
When Larry removed the flagstick, the ball fell into the hole. Larry gave a Tiger pump and excitedly declared this was his first birdie on this par-5 hole.
Was Larry correct, was his chip shot holed when he removed the pin and the ball fell in the hole?
