Hitting the flagstick while putting.

You are on the green 30 feet from the hole. You ask that the flagstick be pulled. The pin is pulled and laid on the ground 20 feet from the hole on the downside of the slight slope. Your putt slides past the hole and curves down the slight slope and your ball hits the flagstick that was placed on the ground. What, if any, is the (stroke play) penalty?"

A. No penalty for you. You did everything correctly, assuming you asked some one else to remove the pin.

B. One stroke penalty, on the pin tender. No good deed goes unpunished, the person who pulled the pin (was it you) is charged with a one stroke penalty for improperly tending the pin.

C. One stroke penalty for you. If you hit the pin while putting on the green, regardless of if you asked for the pin to be tended, you are awarded a one stroke penalty.

D. Two stroke penalty for you. If you hit the pin while putting on the green, regardless of if you asked for the pin to be tended, you are awarded a two stroke penalty.
