THE QUESTION OF THE WEEK IS...

Lost ball found, declared unplayable, status of provisional ball
"Larry hit a lousy tee shot on the downhill 135 yard par-3 that looked to have landed in the woods on the right. He declared he would hit a provisional. This hit was incredible and landed within 6 inches of the hole. Scott found Larry's first ball in rough near the tree line. Larry said to forget the ball he was going to tap in for bogey. Scott correctly pointed out that since Larry had not yet hit/putted his provisional ball, he would have to play the original ball that had been found. Larry then said, well in that case I will just declare my original ball unplayable and still tap in for bogey. Can Larry declare his original found ball unplayable and continue play with his provisional?"
