Larry’s ball was in the sand bunker. The bunker was rather steep. As Larry stepped into the bunker to approach the ball he slipped and fell. He instinctively reached out to break his fall. Not only did his hands touch the sand, he also dropped his club in the bunker. At that point Scott said, “Larry., we all know you club can’t touch the ground in a hazard with either your hand or your club. That’s going to be a two-stroke penalty.”
Was Scott correct? What is the correct ruling?
