Sharing a partner's golf club

"I was playing in a foursome. My partner was Larry. Larry asked me if he could borrow my driver as his was not in his bag. One of the opponents said, ""Hey if you guys share drivers, you will have to unload some of your clubs, because between the two of you, you will be limited to a total of 14 clubs."" What is the correct ruling?"

A. Our opponent was correct. Two golfers may share clubs, but instead of being allowed 14 clubs each, if they share a club, they will be limited to a total of 14 clubs between them.

B. What, is the opponent nuts? They are only sharing one club. Each golfer is limited to carrying 14 clubs in their bag. If Larry is sharing one of his partners the clubs, the partner is limited to 14 clubs and Larry is limited to 13 clubs, his 14th being a shared club.

C. Everyone was wrong in this scenario. Golf rules prohibit the sharing of golf clubs. Each golfer may carry any number of clubs up to a maximum of 14 clubs, but must play with only the clubs in their bag.
