"Larry was playing in a local club stroke play tournament. Larry thought that there should be disqualification of the player, or at least a one stroke penalty on every hole. What is the correct ruling?"

A. Larry moved Bob's ball that was at rest, 2 stroke penalty for Larry. Larry plays his ball as it lies. However, Bob must replace his ball to where it was prior to being hit and moved, or Bob will also be assessed a 2 stoke penalty.

B. The user of the distance booklet is charged with a one stroke penalty for every hole completed.

C. The maximum penalty is two strokes regardless of when the error was discovered. Any subsequent usage of the booklet would result in disqualification.

D. Lighten up, the use of a distance booklet is always permissible. No penalty.
