A Nicklaus Design; ample landing areas with difficult approaches. The greens were in decent condition. My beef with his coureses has been the approach shots and contours of the greens. Some approaches are made very difficult by the shape and contours of the green and pin placement. Even when the approach shot is easier the greens may slope away from the shot or they are multi-tiered and the pin is 3/4 of the way up a ridge. Seems very unfair.
Another issue is the isolation of the location. Its almost an hour from either Vegas or Mesquite. The nearest town is about 30 miles. Not worth the trip.
