This is a course that is hidden away in the middle of nowhere that needs to be brought out into the light. From the first telephone call asking about tee times until I left the place my experience was top notch.
The pro shop was very friendly and helpful in arranging the tee times and for my group to play 36 holes that day. We were welcomed with a smile, sent to the practice and putting areas to warm-up and then off to the races. The day we played it was pushing 90 degrees with steady winds of 20+ mph and gusts that must have been 50+. It made the course even more challenging than the layout already provided.
None of the holes were tricked up, they were just there for your playing enjoyment. The greens rolled true with some very subtle undulations. I was told that the day to get REALLY fast greens was on Tuesday. That is the day that the scratch league plays and they demand (and get) double cut and rolled greens. Wow! I gotta go back and play on a Tuesday.
The restaurant/bar was very friendly and only wanted us to be happy. Good dogs and burgers, none of my group tried anything else but the beer.
The rate for weekday play was $49 and the play again for another 18 was only $25. I thought that $74 for a full day of fun was extremely reasonable. You'll pay much more going up north and not find a friendlier place to be.
I'm going back soon.
