La Purisima is truly a championship course at "blue collar" prices. Every hole is unique and has character on its own. One can challenge the course from the black tees, and when it is windy even the best players will be struggling to break eighty. But "La Pure" plays like a different course from every set of tees. From the regulation tees, different hazards come into play, and even from the red tees, one can have a great time on almost every hole making extremely scary risk reward decisions. The greens are always smooth and fast, and putting will be challenging once you've made it on the green. In all, La Purisima in my mind ranks among the top ten courses I've played in the world.
