As part of our journey playing the various courses on the Trail, we arrived on a very wet and rainy morning. We decided to go ahead and play in the rain despite the soggy conditions. The course played pretty well and seemed to drain nicely. The greens rolled true, but we did have to move our putts around a few times to avoid puddles.
This is one of the best and hardest courses on the Trail with a very dramatic opening tee shot that drops 160' or so and must land between a lake and a swamp. Lots of water hazards but the fairways are generous enough. Loved about 16 of the holes with only a few being a bit too tight and unfair. Still, this is the best course at Capitol Hill. We had the course to ourselves, so the round went quickly!
Would travel: 30-60 Miles, Vacation Worthy
Bottom line: I would play again, Ranks with the best in this price level
Condition of Course, Price, Pace of Play, Food/ Bar facilities, Difficulty, Ambiance, Staff, Pro Shop, Layout, No Houses on Course, Clubhouse
