Woods Valley is like playing two different nines. The front nine is basically flat and a bit crammed but through the use of mounding, the holes seem separate. The back nine goes back into native coast live oaks and feels completely different. Both nines have their share of tight holes and have about 3 lakes each. The greens were very good, fast, but a bit hard as many iron shots took huge first bounces. Bunkers are all in good shape and fairways were 90% grass with some bare spots. Some of the lakes were in bad shape, drained or very low in water. The course is fun to play, not overly long, but a straight ball is a must. Well priced and a good challenge.
Would travel: 30-60 Miles, Not Vacation Worthy
Bottom line: I would play again, Better than average course for the area, Bargain priced based on quality and competitive area pricing, Fair priced based on quality and competitive area pricing
