Played our final round of the A-Ga-Ming courses here as a scramble. With the four (4) tee boxes you can choose from Blue @ 6,612yds / 73.2 / 133 down to Red @ 5,105yds / 69.2 / 124 on this Traditional rolling Par 36/36 layout. Having treelined fairways, 12 holes w/water, elevated greens with deep rough or scattered sand traps to force all carry to undulating greens. Hitting the greens isn't the problem, reading the putts is another thing. Conditions were top notch from tee to green on this older but refined challenging layout. The #1 Par 4 at 372yds downhill to a tucked left green introduces you to a well protected green by being elevated and deep rough. The #2 Par 4 is a long and narrow 413yd hole with water down the righthand side and is the Hcp 2 hole. The #3 is a Hcp 5 sweeping right 532yd Par 5 that has water blocking short 2nd shots trying to reach the green in two. The #4 is a 385yd Par 4 with water down the complete right side, including the green. The #5 is a water in front 217-126yd Par 3 so play it long. The #6 is a very narrow 526yd Par 5 with no trouble, unless you miss the fairway. The #7 Par 3 at 235-122yds plays easier as bailout in front offers an easy "Up & Down" if needed. The finishing #9 is a sweeping left 360yd Par 4 that finishes uphill. The Back 9 starts out with three (3) of the toughest starting holes I've seen. The #10 is a sweeping right 394yd Par 4 with a pond in front of the green, traps to the rear protecting this Hcp 1 green. The #11 511yd Par 5 is their Hcp 3 holes that is also narrow with a creek in front of the raised green, don't come up short. Number 12 is a hard left 354yd dogleg that has outside corner sand traps and inside marsh to protect it's Hcp 7 ranking. The #13 is a 184-164yd Par 3 with water left, all the way past the green. Number 15 is a very narrow 490yd Par 4 that is a Hcp 6 and a tough tiered green. The #16 is a 400yd sweeping right Par 4 with water down the complete left side. The #18 is a friendly 365yd hole that sweeps left to a side hill elevated green. With all the rain they had here lately, some fairways were soft as twelve (12) holes had some kinda water around them. We ended up shooting -11 or 61 and had a real good time. Looking forward to returning and playing this on my own ball for a real score.
