Wow...Tough morning and extra tough course layout to contend with, on this warm and windy morning. By playing this 1990 Donald Ross course that highlights 18 of his most famous holes, you can imagine playing each one of those in a competition....frame of mind. I can say one thing for sure about this track.....I'm glad I had my day job to pay the bills. I felt that playing from the Orange tees (3,112yd / 3,121yd) the landing areas were very fair and free of major hazards. But that's where the fun begins with fully protected fast greens and some unusual shaped greens to hit. (center is good) Still great conditions from tee to green wherever the ball lands and the sand was soft and fluffy, just the way it should be. Having troubles with my carry distances to the greens gave me the "Sandman" nickname by playing partners Trent, Matt and Chris. I really did enjoy the challenge today but Bogies were my new Par's in route to shooting 45/44 w/37putts. These are some very challenging holes that show I need to work on my carries and acknowledging changes in the wind direction. Look forward to returning and playing with more course knowledge around the smaller, non-typical fast greens, we had today. Must play all of these courses if you travel into this area, you won't be disappointed.
Would travel: 60-120 Miles, Vacation Worthy
Bottom line: I would play again, Fair priced based on quality and competitive area pricing, Ranks with the best in this price level
Condition of Course, Food/ Bar facilities, Difficulty, Ambiance, Staff, Pro Shop, Layout, No Houses on Course, Clubhouse
