I felt I needed to give a third comment after reading the 2016 poor review and update current conditions. The course sprinkler started failing during the 2015 season and in 2016 it was basiclly "Mother Nature" or nothing. Hard pan fairways with burn spots on most greens made many golfer look elsewhere to play. Extra county funding got Cascades GC back to its normal self by June of 2017......Amen. This 1929 Public course still can hold its head high on conditions, challenge and low cost ($21 18/cart) to enjoy. Got a chance to take my Friend/Customer Jeff B out here to play and redeem my loss to at the Grande GC earlier this morning. Playing from the tips 3,527 / 3,124yds this 73.0 / 136 Par 37/35 let down its guard for us to attack and be rewarded. The rough was playing long and Jeff found it early to give my fairway shots a early advantage. Starting out with two (2) Par 5's (573 & 530yds) give the long/straight fairway hitters a chance to gain a early lead. Fairway pine trees/sandbunkers are placed on the first three (3) holes to add pain to those stray tee shots, so keep it straight at all cost. The #6 496yd Par 5 is uphill all the way with pine trees on both sides 180-250yds out to take away an easy Par if you stray. The #7 & #8 are both doglegs that a 200yd shot hits the corner (150yd to green) with shorter blocked by trees and longer through the fairway. Back 9 is narrow so hitting a straight 200yd shot from almost every tee will leave 150-180 yds to the promised land. Bombing the driver here only has the advantage if you can hit the known angled landing areas. Firm sands traps are found to at least on one side or the other on every hole with the fronts always open. The #17 388yd Par 4 is the one seen in the photo and short of the creek is a 170yd shot to a tough sloping green that offers 3 putts to those landing above the cup. I enjoyed shooting 40/37 w/32putts to Jeff's 42/37 w/34 putts on this great Fall afternoon. Stop in and enjoy a great conditioned course that won't hurt your wallet.

I've been playing here in the Monday Night league since 1984 and the great conditions have been the reason i've stayed. Playing with a 4-5 hcp this course demands your focus and will reward you with a honest score. Many tourments are played here and is most popular with low hcp players to keep their game sharp, at mimimum cost. Greens always have been fast and true from fringe to cup, just the way you want them. Easy walking course that makes it most enjoyable for your golfing adventure. (Fast play on most afternoons)
