Always enjoy coming out here once a year and playing as its a good mix of tight and open with no real "side by side" fairways to worry about. The course plays 6,422yds / 71.5 / 125 and makes its way from the flats into the hills, those are the holes that are most challenging. Most of the greens are small and crowned so shots need to hit the middle or they tend to roll off. Well watered with greens cut smooth (not too fast), fairways cut close to average width so you don't feel too choked off the tee. Shooting 40/41 w/36putts and finding some of the pine trees when missing the fairways with some tough hole placements, make putting an adventure. Hole #7 is a interesting par 5 @ 491 yds as the green is tucked on a hill lined with trees and giving up everything from eagle to bogie+ if you miss your 3w landing area. Vacation worthy because of nearby lakes and camp grounds that are busy in the summer. Worth the stop if you're off the beaten path and traveling down M-60 between Jackson,MI and South Bend, IN and looking for a another older William Newcomb course to play OR a great hamburger.

Would travel: 20-30 Miles, Vacation Worthy
Bottom line: I would play again, Better than average course for the area, Bargain priced based on quality and competitive area pricing, Fair priced based on quality and competitive area pricing
