After playing at Brookwood GC this morning we decided to drive by this 1927 "Donald Ross GC" and see if I could play there. They were closed for the season and has undergone renovations from the current eighteen (18) hole design, to return to the original nine (9) hole Ross design. This was completed in 2018 and has been embraced by the local golfing community. The area landscape is mostly flat with slight elevation changes with scattered trees that breakup the Link's type layout. In viewing the course you could see well placed sand traps boarding fairways and greens alike. In finding a discarded score card, they have four (4) tees from Black @ 3,472yds / 36.3 / 126 down to Yellow @ 2,598yds / 33.3 / 110 on this Par 36 layout. The #3 Par 3 hole plays 225yds from the tips and has two (2) front traps protecting the green and awaiting your impending arrival. The Hcp 1 Par 4 hole is #5 and plays 410yds with fairway traps and matching green side ones to match. The #8 hole is the other Par 3 which plays up to 220yds and holds its own for the Hcp 3 as listed. The #9 finishing Par 5 hole stretches out to 550yds and has five (5) sand traps to contend with, to live up to its Hcp 4 ranking. Listed rates are from $15 9/wlk to $22 9/cart and look forward to returning and playing this restored course next Spring.
Would travel: 30-60 Miles, Vacation Worthy
Bottom line: Fair priced based on quality and competitive area pricing, Ranks with the best in this price level
