$16 (cart included), played on Tuesday, May 2011 at 6:00 PM

There have been scattered showers all day until 4 pm, and then the sun came out...I'm going golfing. They gave me the twilight special of $20 w/cart "All you can Play"........my kinda golf.

This is a 1975 Pete Dye design, and what it lacks in forced carries and narrow landing areas, it gets your attention on yardage and green design with protection. While trees border fairways, you never feel very uneasy about swinging away from the tee boxes to the generous landing areas. With only having three (3) sets of tees, Blues @ 6,976yds / 73.0 / 132, White @ 6,383yds / 70.4 / 122 and the Reds @ 5,002yds / 69.4 / 115, this Par 36/36 doesn't give the men many choices. The starter gave me this hint, "Play the Whites on the Front and the Blues on the Back," which gives you 6,661yds and no 400 yd Par 4's.

The first three (3) holes are straightaway Par 4's that build in length from 378yds to 485yds that get up warmed up to hitting those long irons/woods that you'll be using .......A lot. The #4 Par 3 can play 196-168yd to a raised small green with front and RH sand traps. The #6 Par 5 is 557-502yds to the largest green on the front and the most undulating also with no traps needed. The #7 is a slight dogleg at 452-402yds and has four (4) traps bordering this small kidney-shaped green. The #8 Par 3 at 187-168yds has the same trap arraignment to a smaller but narrow green. The #9 is a Hcp 3 straightaway 549-529yd Par 5 to around (15 yds) hillside green that requires a good guess on that club selection.

The Back 9 - #10 starts out with a short Par 5 at 490-480yds but the elevated green has a false front with traps waiting for you. The Hcp 2 #11 at 385-350yds challenges your driver to hit the narrow fairway and small round elevated green with no traps needed. The #12 Par 3 plays 186-177yds to a large round green that is elevated and domed and fairly flat. The #15 Par 3 at 200-159yds is narrow and oblong right, with traps at each end. The #17 Par 5 at 487-460yds starts you a friendly end to put a Par's down because #18 is a 355-296yd Par 4 with a narrow green.

Enjoyed the challenging course layout and with the soft conditions, it seemed to play very friendly as the drives stayed put. Ended up shooting 40/37 w/32putts and look forward to returning in drier conditions.

Would travel: 60-120 Miles, Vacation Worthy
