Had a extra 2hrs so I decided to stop at this 1968 Jack Kidwell design that was Rennovated in 2006 and has matured very nicely for a quick nine (9) holes. The bentgrass course was very wet and cart path only so my ratings are based a little lower than prime conditions. I choose to play the Blue tees 3,393/3,214yds / 68.9 / 122 on this Par 35/35 layout because of the wet conditions. One thing I didn't like was that the rates are "Flexible" according to the starter and the $35 9/cart path only, on the wet conditions. The #2 Par 4 at 400yds has two (2) large trees framing the fairway 180yds out leading straightaway to a elevated green with RH sandtraps on this Hcp 3 hole. This #3 Par 3 at 191-147yds has a elevated and narrow green with a front trap plays tougher than its Hcp 15. The #4 Par 5 is a 545yds narrow view with a creek crossing on that 2nd shot to a elevated narrow on this Hcp 1 hole. The #7 Par 4 at 423yds starts out with a 180yd carry to the meandering fairway that leads to another elevated green without traps. The #9 Par 4 plays longer than its uphill 395yds with water on the RH side right up to the green. I can tell that this would be a better course if the conditions were drier and the white sandtraps were fluffed up a little. I'd like to come back and play the Back 9 but check the price BEFORE setting up the tee time. Ended up shooting 39 w/15putts as the greens were holding good and rolling 5-6.
Would travel: 30-60 Miles, Vacation Worthy
Bottom line: I would play again, Better than average course for the area, Expensive, but not worth it
