This is a very nice course with a good yardage layout (6,700) from the tips that varies in layouts to keep you on your toes. Little high priced on the weekends ($40) but gets alot of play so they can charge it. If you like fast play get the first five tee times or don't bother to come. It gets backed up pretty quick as some people like to make it a 5-6 hrs adventure and the rough hids the ball pretty good if you go hunting. Played it many times being the first off and finished in 3.5 hrs but #1 tee had a 3 group back-up by 9am and looked slow. Worth playing once but price should be $30.

Would travel: 30-60 Miles, Not Vacation Worthy
Bottom line: Average course for the area

My son Jeremy and I , catching the last of golfing in Michigan at 40 degrees, 10mph north wind with a light cold mist in the air, challenging our mental focus.

I failed, starting with 9 over on the front 9's (3,253yds) first 5 holes, things had to change. The #3 hole (dog leg right) is the #1 handicap a Par 4 @ 442yds. MUST be played to the left to score, I went left.

For a public course having eight (8) par 4's at 398yds really puts the pressure on the long irons into the good size greens. Mostly a links style layout with only a few holes on the back 9 (3,435yds) giving you tree trouble if you stray.

Only two (2) groups in front of us so we were done in 2hrs and 15 minutes (18 holes) with no hold ups.

The highlight was seeing eight (8) turkeys on #16 par 3 green, I got a Birdie with Jeremy getting a par.

Jeremy had 42/46 w/ 36 putts and I shot 47/43 w/ 31 putts and look forward to returning in warmer weather. All in all, good course layout with conditions to match for a Metro-park run course. Must play in the early AM if you want to miss the 4.5 hour rounds that summer prime time brings, getting their monies worth on strokes and time spent.

Would travel: 20-30 Miles, Not Vacation Worthy
Bottom line: I would play again, Fair priced based on quality and competitive area pricing, Ranks with the best in this price level
