$10 (cart included), played on Wednesday, November 2020 at 3:10 PM

Since Plan A failed, Playing at Deer Run GC, playing at Morrison Lake GC six (6) miles down the road worked out very well for $20 18/cart. Morrison Golf Club opened for play in 1927 and is now a 5,602yd / 67.1 / 115 down to 4,887yd rolling eighteen (18) hole Par 35/35 layout. They surprisingly had four (4) tees but the score card only has Blue and Red listed for some reason. The Front 9 is short at 2,629yds with hitting the small greens a challenge but "Up & Downs" saving par.....very friendly. The #1 is a downhill 234yd Par 4 BUT there's a creek crossing 200yds from the Blue tee to contend with. The #2 is a short 154yd blind green Par 3 that has short shots kicking onto the dance floor. The #3 has another creek 200yds out to this 304yd Par 4 hole. The #4 is your first 450yd Par 5 that plays all downhill but has pine trees framing the fairway to the very small green. The #5 330yd Hcp 4 Par 4 has you climbing back uphill to a dogleg left and elevated turtle back green. The #7 is a 332yd Par 4 that has a uphill drive from the Blue tees to a pine tree lined fairway. Stay to the righthand side of fairway as the green is tucked behind a tree on the lefthand side. The #8 is a long dogleg right 345yd hole (220yd to corner) to a elevated green. The Back 9 has more narrow pine tree lined fairways and longer yardages. The #10 265yd & #11 287yd are both easy straightaway Par 4's so enjoy as it soon tightens up. The #12 is their Hcp 1 Par 4 and at 433yds its got pine trees, marsh areas and OB left of the green. The #13 is a uphill 349yd Par 4 that plays closer to 390yds as the green is elevated 30yds above the fairway. The #14 is a 325yd Par 4 with another wider creek crossing at 100yds from the elevated green. The #15 is a Hcp 3 tough 397yd uphill climb to the blind and elevated green. Don't miss the green short right or the blind marsh area awaits you. The #17 417yd Par 4 is a Hcp 2 and plays similar to the uphill #15 and very narrow fairway. The #18 is a slightly uphill 124yd Par 3 to a blind green and needs one extra club. This wasn't a bad course for the short yardage as it's pine tree lined and rolling fairways controlled distance very well. Ended up shooting 34/40 w/31 putts as the open Front 9 allows you to score and the Back 9 tightens up your tee shots. Greens were in great shape but some of the fairways were a little rough in areas.

Would travel: 20-30 Miles, Not Vacation Worthy
Bottom line: I would play again, Bargain priced based on quality and competitive area pricing, Fair priced based on quality and competitive area pricing, Ranks with the best in this price level
