$16 (cart not included), played on Friday, October 2020 at 11:00 AM

In the area so I decided to play one of the many nine (9) hole courses in the area, to keep my short game sharp. Found this 1986 Par 35 Fairfax County course wanting $20 to walk (Very wet, No carts) nine (9) and Blues at 2,459yds / 32.3 / 107, why not take my clubs for a short walk. With four (4) tee boxes going down to 1,858yds / 30.0 / 93 any age can learn and practice those iron shots to average size but smooth flat greens. Surprisingly a lot of fairway/greenside traps but the rain yesterday made them very firm. So I took out my driver and 3 wood to work on my 5 wood and long irons today. Starting out #1 with a 387yd Hcp 2 Par 4 dogleg left that requires a 220yd drive (I miss my driver already) to see the green, was a nice surprise. The #2 is a dogleg right 252yd Par 4 that needs a 200yd drive for a clear look at the green. The #3 is a short uphill 143yd Par 3 that plays normally into the wind so choose your club accordingly. The #4 is another dogleg right 346yd Par 4 that requires a 220yd tee (from Blues) to the LH side for a clear shot to the green. Tall trees are on the inside corner along with a marsh. The #5 is a narrow 313yd Par 4 that is 200yds to the top of the and then downward to the green. The #6 at 321yds is a Hcp 3 but should be their Hcp 1 based on the treelined double dogleg layout. Your tee shot needs to hug the righthand side at 220yds to get past the inside corner TALL trees and don't miss the green long/right or OB you go. The #7 Par 3 was playing 143yds and into the wind with a green that isn't that big. The #8 is a 443yd dogleg right Par 5 that has sand traps at 200-230yds in the middle of the fairway that force you short/right or grip and rip. With the very tall trees on the righthand side you need 320yds from the Blue tees to view the large green on the other side of the creek. Finishing up on #9 at 119yd Par 3 lacks a little excitement BUT I can see many "Closest to the Hole" challenges being settled at the end of the round. This was a very nice surprise in this short but challenging layout buy leaving the big hitters in the car. Ended up shooting 36 w/17 putts and getting more accurate with my longer irons.

Would travel: 10-20 Miles, Not Vacation Worthy
Bottom line: I would play again, Average course for the area, Fair priced based on quality and competitive area pricing
