I was traveling through this area and decided to stop in and see what the 36 hole Raisin River GC has to offer. With the Raisin River close by, recent heavy rains, soggy and wet conditions are to be expected. Being only two (2) other cars in the parking lot at 11:30am on a Friday, should have told me conditions I'd find.

The West Course 6,106yd / 66.9 / 114 Par 35/35 was open but the East Course (longer layout) 6,929yd / 72.9 / 122 Par 35/36 has been closed and abandoned due to flooding problems.

I paid $22 for 18/cart and took off on this mature, basically flat layout with normal separation between side by side fairways.

Starting out with #1 450yd and #2 535yd Par 5's is a good way to get the rust off the long clubs and see where the swing is at today. The #3 190yd Par 3, #4 390yd and #5 385yd Par 4's add a little challenge to this shorter yardage layout with SW wind not helping either. Finishing up on the Hcp 1, #9 440yd Par 4 is a good way to end the Front 9. The Back 9 #10 355yd Par 4 has a sand trap on the RH side to catch those 200yd drives. The #13 525yd Par 5 has a hidden stream near your 2nd shot landing area. The #14 435yd Par 4 has the same stream crossing about 200yds from the tee box that breaks up that relaxed driver swing. The #16 410yd Par 4 has another stream in front of the green for those shots coming up short to the elevated green. Number 18 is a nice 455yd Par 5 hole Hcp 5 way to finish up a 2hr, windy and wet round.

This course is a very nice layout but time hasn't been to good to this once local and popular course.

I ended up shooting 40/40 w/29putts that was good for working on my soggy grass fairway shots.

Would travel: 10-20 Miles, Not Vacation Worthy
Bottom line: Worse than average course for the area, Fair priced based on quality and competitive area pricing

Drove by here after playing Monroe CC this morning and found both East/West courses closed down. Was told it never opened in 2020 due to COVID closing down golf courses in Michigan. Another sad ending to a once popular golf course.
