$36 (cart included), played on Monday, September 2019 at 1:30 PM

Got in a day early for a business meeting so why not enjoy a healthy afternoon......Eating Greens. This 2005 course was highly recommended to me on my last visit but I didn't get to it. Even though I generally don't play golf community courses, for $40 this looked more open than most. With the five (5) tees playing from 4,824yd up to 6,739yds this Par 36/35 mix of Links and rolling wooded layout was built to challenge every player from any tee box. The homes are mostly located far enough away not to hinder your view of playing any hole. The Blue tees played 3,153yd/3,217yds and mostly had 150-180yd carries to the fairways which always add a little excitement to the view from the tee box, which is nice.

Starting out with an open 506yd Par 5 gets the swing warmed up and seeing fairway traps, a preview of things to come. I don't believe there was a fairway that I didn't shoot a trap from the tee box, Thick full rough grass is advance-able but add a club and follow through. The greens are mostly large (40' x 30') and hold very good BUT there is always a front you need to pay respect to or pay the price.

#7 is a narrow 503yd Par 5 that offers the long hitters to risk hitting a fade 3wood around the inside corner to a short chip onto the green. (not me)

#9 is a long position carry (trap/trees) to the corner (220yd) if you want to have under a 150yd shot to a tough placed green. Did I say this is a traditional 18 hole Loop?

#10 is a 392-634yd Par 5 and easily protects it's Hcp 2 rating (tight) all the way to the hole so play within your game strength (Bogie is OK). Back 9 seems to have more forced carries, more wooded and positioned traps in the fairway, where you don't want them.

#17 Par 3 can be played from 242yd to 120yd and is a ugly carry to that narrow smaller sized green from the Blue 228yd box w/ left front being the bailout. I will return and play many holes differently and look more carefully at the carry required. There are not many Grip and Rip holes on this winding layout, which is a nice change. I ended up shooting 42/42 w/30putts as I hit many greens (accidentally) in the best place.

A must play if you are in the area.

Would travel: 30-60 Miles, Vacation Worthy
Bottom line: I would play again, Better than average course for the area, Fair priced based on quality and competitive area pricing, Ranks with the best in this price level
