$36 (cart included), played on Saturday, March 2023 at 1:30 PM

What a suprise to find this great Resort Course designed by Jack Nicklaus in 2000 located right next to I-68 for a easy off and back on. The starter said if I could tee off in 10 minutes on the Back 9, I could beat the five (5) foursomes making the turn. We were gone in six (6) minutes and the best $39 18/cart I spent on this trip The score card only shows three (3) tee boxes with at Back 6,876yd / 73.0 / 136 and Middle 6,135yd / 67.7 / 119 and the Forward 5,198yd / 65.1 / 108 on this hilly/wooded Par 36/36 layout. Conditions were very wet from last night's and this morning's rain (cart path only) but the course was draining pretty good. There are many well located sand traps throughout the course, but the rains have washed then out pretty good. Starting out on the fairly open Back 9 #10 a 559yd Par 5 got things warmed up, but watch that ravine in front of the Hpc 5 green. The #13 Par 5 at 595yds maybe downhill but the pond covering the rightside/front plays tougher than it Hcp 12 ranking. The #14 Par 4 Hcp 5 at 414yds is downhill but the creek about 220-240 out, is awaiting that tee shot. The #15 Par 5 at 535yds is a sweeping left dogleg has a very narrow 100yd in approach shot to this narrow green. (Yes, three (3) Par 5's) The #16 Par 3 at 190yds is their Hcp 3 hole because of the creek carry tucked up to the front of the green and traps to the rear. The #18 Par 4 at 428yds is uphill to this mostly blind green with front sand traps so....go long. The Front 9 #2 is a uphill tee shot dogleg left 381yds that hits into a downhill green that missed shots are OB, unless its short. The #3 at 431yds is a narrow fairway to a narrow RH trap protected Hpc 1 green. The #5 is a 542yd downhill target fairway with traps in it's center, so aim tee RH side of traps for more runout. The #7 is a 395yd sweeping downhill righthand dogleg to a small green with water right, steep grassy hill on the left. The #8 is a narrow long uphill 509yd Par 5 and having a blind sdhot to the green, doesn't help. The #9 392yd Par 4 has a severe uphill tee shot that needs 200yds to make the first landing ledge and don't go long or left or it's gone. Ended up shooting 41/42 with 35 putts and glad I got warmed up on the more open Back 9 before playing the tight Front 9. This is a must stop if driving through the I-68 corridor near Flintstone, MD
