Taking the back way home from Ann Arbor and Rustic Glen GC popped up, weather's dry, sun shining through the clouds....quick 9 sounds good. Starter said if I wanted to walk, $10 and I was good to go to play to my hearts content. This is my kinda starter and price, Thanks. Had my choice between Front 3,254yd Par 36 or Back 3,134yd Par 36 that plays to a 71.3 / 127 so I played the Front 9. This is a nice "Side by Side" Links with a slightly rolling landscape that breaks up the mostly straightaway hole layouts. Nicely spaced pine/hardwood trees separate the holes and keep arrant balls at a minimum. Fairways are cut a little long and the rough was thick and long. The large greens make you relax when standing over those approach shots and lack of sand traps, help also. Greens were kinda fuzzy today, but rolled very true and smooth. The #6 557yd Par 5 was one long, narrow straightaway hole that played right into the north wind. (Extra long today) The Back 9 looked to have more doglegs and trees than the Front 9. I can imagine summer conditions with tight cut fairways, long thick rough with slick rolling greens. Enjoyed getting around in 1.5hr and shooting 38 w/15putts on this crisp April afternoon. Look forward to returning and playing the complete layout in prime condition.
Would travel: 10-20 Miles, Not Vacation Worthy
Bottom line: I would play again, Bargain priced based on quality and competitive area pricing, Fair priced based on quality and competitive area pricing
