My sons Jeremy & Barry decided to meet up here for our Fathers Day golf outing...Great Choice. They have quite a selection of loops you can play, practice area and plans to add another nine (9) holes in the near future. We paid $48 to play the Gold 3,331yd/Par 36 and Red 3,004yd/Par 35 (71.1 / 129 /Par 71) mix of woods, water, and open layout.
Starting out on a tight, tree-lined 395-yard dogleg right Par 4 will make the next holes look easier. #2 is a great 364-yard Par 4 dogleg right that has you driving 190yds across the water to a raised firm green. Your driving target is right of the first fairway bunker, leaving about 130yd 2nd shot. The next five (5) holes are straight forward narrow holes with #5 being a 552yd Par 5 having a 180yd carry off the tee box. #8 dogleg right 365 -yard Par 4 is fun with the 2nd shot to a water/sand protected island green. Having played three (3) dogleg rights, might as well end with a 379yd Par 4 having a 180yd carry off the tee.
The Back 9 is more rolling pine tree-lined fairways that have well-groomed sand traps protecting the firm smooth greens. #15, a downhill 214-yard Par 3 is surrounded by a marsh and landing short is not a bad spot. #16, a 254yd Par 4 is played to a hilltop hidden green, so play to a smart 2nd shot yardage. The #17 385yd Par 4 has your 2nd shot to a side hill located green that is tipped forward. So play 1-2 clubs more on the 2nd shot and stay below the cup at to avoid three (3) putts.
Even though this course is short on yardage, if you stray on your shots, troubles will find you. I ended up getting my Father Day present in the form of a 36/39 w/30putts and having my boys with me.....Priceless.
I am looking forward to returning and checking out the other layouts.
Would travel: 60-120 Miles, Vacation Worthy
Bottom line: I would play again, Better than average course for the area, Fair priced based on quality and competitive area pricing
Condition of Course, Pace of Play, Ambiance, Staff, Layout, No Houses on Course
