What a treat to play an old (1920) Country Club course that has gone Public, to find nothing has changed from its former tradition.

We had the first tee time paid $39. In 3.5hrs (6,800yds / 72.6 / 137 / Par 72) we had completed this top notch rolling layout, with conditions to match. Good mix of tight/open/blind tee shots that kept your game hat on, to make the correct shot selection for that hole. Hidden and protected raised greens (soft fluffy sand) made yardages a premium if you wanted to hit the various shaped hard/slick/true/unblemished greens, that putt very true.

My friend Mark shot 91 w/39 putts and I had 86 w/37 putts, and both agreed that 150 yd fairway center-line sticks would assist first time players on distances and landing areas. Had GAM markers for the Par 3's but I miss the various yardage block for each tee box that keeps the guess work at a minimum.

ONE problem was the #10 tee box had a 10" crown to the complete length of the Par 3 tee box, why ??

This is a must play if traveling through the Coldwater area that's 7 minutes from US-12 / I-69 highways for that Country Club experience, on a public operated course. You won't be disappointed.

Would travel: 30-60 Miles, Vacation Worthy
Bottom line: I would play again, Fair priced based on quality and competitive area pricing, Ranks with the best in this price level
