First time player here and was not disapointed with what I heard. The greens roll true and receive the ball very well with pin placements 1-2 clubs adjustments needed. The houses are far enough back so they don't take away the feeling of being in a wooded setting that seems tighter than it really is. Lots of traps guarding the short holes from the Blues (6,180) that make you carry the distance that isn't marked very well on the sprinkler heads, which could be improved. With my 220-240 drive the traps didn't come into play so NEXT TIME I'll move back to the Gold (6,514) for a more truer feel of what the course has to offer in visual set-up for landing areas that are bigger than they look, being my first time. Shot 41/39 w/34 putts, paid $42 being a senior (55+) off the $48 normal. Little high for a Jackson based player, but this is worth the price and better track than the Detroit pricing base for the same type of course.

Would travel: 30-60 Miles, Vacation Worthy
Bottom line: I would play again, Fair priced based on quality and competitive area pricing

Second time playing and was a little disappointed based on my first experience. The layout is first class with many front bunkers protecting the green from short "Chip & Putt" saves, which is good. The sand traps were more like "Hard Pan" shots with 1/4 inch of sand covering the hard bottom, this was the disappointing area. Greens still rolled very true but looked worse than they really were. Played from the Blue 69.4 / 122 @ 6,180 yds and found the fairways receiving my 210-220 yd drives very well. Shot 43/41 w/ 36 putts playing with Son (89/37) and 14 year old granddaughter Madison (122/49) played her own ball tee to green from the Red 5,100 yds. Long drive to 13-16 holes that takes about 5 minutes is the only drawback. Priced good at the $40 for this challenging layout near the Detroit area with higher prices.
