First time in Phoenix area during winter and I was looking for a good warm-up course, to get the rust out.
The overseeding hasn't come in on the fairways, so it's a little thin/brown if you don't hit the green areas. Nice yardage choices from 6,846yd / 71.4/121 down to 5,297yd/68.5/112 on this Links's design Par 35/36 layout. The yardage markers were "Hit and Miss" on each hole, so bring own GPS of choice. Each green had sand traps on either side, but hard pan replaced the sand. Greens were firm and heavily sanded, but rolled surprisingly well. We only had time to play the front 9, so we chose the tips at 3,292yds and tried to hit the scattered green areas.
Good practice course if you haven't played in a while for the $22.00 9/cart or $29 for 18/cart. Ended up shooting 40 w/15 putts on this cloudy 65-degree day and No Snow.
Would travel: 10-20 Miles, Not Vacation Worthy
Bottom line: Fair priced based on quality and competitive area pricing, Expensive, but not worth it
