I stopped in for a quick Nine (9) holes on this 1998 Edward Beidal "Link's" layout.
Paid my $25 for 9/cart and choose the Front 9 Blues that play 3,250 yds / 70.4 / 120 on this Par 36/36 course. Great visual views from the four (4) tee boxes that range from 6,702yd / 72.2 / 123 down to 5,131yd / 69.6 / 113 with the generous manicured fairways, awaiting your arrival. Greens are firm but hold/roll (8-9) very nicely and aren't too tricky. Many challenging forced carries from the tee boxes, well placed grassy/sand bunkers, scattered ponds that are placed well, to add strokes to your score. The first four (4) holes are good warm-ups and staying in the fairway needs to be practiced because it gets a lot harder after this.
#5 419yd Par 5 is straight away narrow with sand bunkers catching anything short.
#6 442yd Par 4 is the Hcp 1 hole, tee box offers a visual damaging, forced narrow carry view to a nice receiving green. But getting there can be an adventure if you stray along the way.
#8 538 Par 5 sweeps left around a pond that is ready to catch your 2nd shot if you're too aggressive and looking for Birdies. The front of the pond leaves an 120-150yd shot to get you on in three (3) and that's advice worth taking.
Didn't play the Back 9 but it looked like more trees and ponds placed to see what you learned on the Front 9.
The starter Rich, let me go to #18 577yd Par 5 Double Dogleg fairway to view their hole they call "No Way or Tin Cup". They say to play your 2nd shot to the top of the hill and you'll have a 130-150yd carry over the pond to the green. Looking froward to returning and playing the complete course as for shooting 40 w/16putts left me wanting more.
This is one of the better courses in this area that you can play for $37 18/cart and not be disappointed.
Would travel: 60-120 Miles, Vacation Worthy
Bottom line: I would play again, Better than average course for the area, Bargain priced based on quality and competitive area pricing, Fair priced based on quality and competitive area pricing, Ranks with the best in this price level, Best course in the area
Condition of Course, Price, Pace of Play, Difficulty, Ambiance, Staff, Layout, No Houses on Course, Clubhouse
