$26 (cart included), played on Wednesday, November 2022 at 10:35 AM

Decided to take a quick 100 mile trip South to Ft. Wayne, IN where its going to hit the mid 50's today and play some golf. Got the first tee time at 10:00am but the frost delay had us waiting till 10:35am with the first five (5) greens a little firm until the sun softened them up. With four (4) tees you can play from the Gold (Tips) 6,787yds / 72.4 / 124 down to the Blacks (Forward) 5,235yds / 65.5 / 103 on this mostly flat/narrow Par 36/36 Robert Beard 1967 layout. A few of the tee boxes were a little rough and no sand available to repair divots which might be only a summer thing......I hope. Fairways are cut a little narrow and have well placed hardwood trees that are trimmed up nicely for a fair advancement. Sand traps were surprisingly very soft today but they've removed the rakes so using your "Foot Rake" was the plan for today. The Front 9 starts out with #1 & #2 being short Par 4's at 332 and 339yds to get you off to a easy start. The #3 is a Par 3 at 221-155yds but has a friendly large green with a kick on front but don't miss right as there is a 10' grass drop off to flip it back on to the green. The #4 is their Hcp 2 Par 4 at 420yds and is tree lined and very tight all the way to the elevated green. The next five (5) holes alternate three Par 5's (532, 516, 520yds) and two (2) Par 3's (190, 160yds) that are mostly just straightaway and and give you a feel good ending of the first half of 3,230yds. The Back 9 with seven (7) Par 4's at 3,557yds is not only longer but the wind seemed to whip through the trees giving unpredictable effect on your ball flight. The #10 Par 4 dogleg left at 453yds plays right into the SW prevailing wind which puts a little salt in that wound for this Hcp 3 hole. The Hole #13 Hpc 5 a Par 4 at 460yds also plays into the SW wind with O.B. down the complete LH side of the fairway. The #14 Par 3 is 185yds into the wind again to a elevated green that is kinda narrow with middle being the widest. The #16 Par 4 at 295yds is the "Calm before the Storm" so enjoy and card your Par on this Hcp 17 hole. The #17 Par 5 Hcp 1 can play from 624yds down to 424yds, with the two (2) creek crossings your last 200yds in, to a really elevated green, into the wind.......need I say any more. I played it from 552yds and those two (2) hidden creek crossings with 60yds between them you have a choice to make...I took the easy Bogey. The #18 Par 4 at 410yds has the green in a natural bowl with sand trap left and kick on to the righthand side. This is very well maintained course for what I saw in November and summer could only be better. I ended up shooting 38/42 w/36putts from the Gold (Tips) today and looking forward to returning in the summer......with less wind.

Would travel: 60-120 Miles, Vacation Worthy
Bottom line: I would play again, Better than average course for the area, Bargain priced based on quality and competitive area pricing, Fair priced based on quality and competitive area pricing, Ranks with the best in this price level
