With rain to the North of us this morning, we decided to go south 30 minutes to a drier area. Last played here six (6) years ago, and if anything, everything is better than before. For what started with a group of avid golfers to build their "Dream Course" its withstood the downs in the golfing world (course closings) and improved on conditions and pricing.
Having the first tee time, finishing in 3hr 15 minutes, paid $25.00 ($18 w/cart weekdays), great mowed/green conditions from tee to green made the trip worthwhile. We played from the tips which at 2,994yds Front / 3,213yds Back totaling 6,207yds / 69.5 / 118 / Par 35/36 (71) wasn't all that longer than the 5,970yd Whites.
Fairways in great condition and having the landing areas straightforward and visible makes it easy for first-timers. Have a few blind second shots, but the 150yds or less causes few problems if you miss the green. The first 10yds of rough was playing very thick but cut fair to advance the ball. The greens were very smooth with sharp cut cups and rolling between 8-9, even after an overnight rain.
Played with fellow Spartan fan Mark P (82/30) and I (83/30) enjoying this overcast Saturday morning on a Links style layout that incorporates a creek/ravine running through the middle of this traditional flat area.
If traveling through this area on US 223, its a must stop for this locally owned and well-conditioned golf course. You won't be disappointed.

This is a great "Home Grown" course that was started by local aviad golfers. My wife's Uncle Paul DeLine was one of them. Love the layout as it test the average golfer and makes it fun to play. Easy walking course with ups/downs but gives it the ambiance of "if I could build a course, this is what i would like to see". You will enjoy this course BUT take bug spray when you get into the woods.
